So a friend of mine tipped me off to this game last night. I downloaded it and played a few games before I went to sleep. I have to say, it's pretty fun.

I made it to master and don't play as much now. I still play once a week or so for a session.

I use to play for 3-4 hours a day when it first came out and was free on PSN.
Since then, I may play 2-3 times a month, just a random pick up for my friends and myself.
I'm mediocre at best, but I have two friends who are really good.

Get to the point of being 80+% on aerial hits and being able to freestyle then you will have that much more fun

PC player unfortunately, I stay in the top two tiers of challenger. I just don't have enough time to play to get better. The game is a blast and would love to be good enough play in tourneys.
Can't wait for the rank data reset. The smurfing and rank system is just garbage right now. Thank god for kicking steam family share out of competitive.

So how exactly do you know you're good at this game? I think I'm an all around average player..play good defense and score every game. My goals per game is about 1 for sure.
What kind of stats are we looking at here? I know ranks/levels mean nothing.

I'm about 50 hours in. I love the game but deserters are super annoying. I was told to go play competitive if you don't want to worry about that but in competitive if someone leaves, you don't get a replacement so it really isn't much better. A 15 minute penalty would be awesome.
I haven't tried it but I hear 1v4 unfair bots is a good way to test your skills. If you can beat them, you're pretty damn good.

It's just me and 2 other friends. When I mostly play it's with one or both of them.
I'll try and do the training a little more. I remember I got a lot better after doing the training for just 10 or so minutes. I really have learned everything on the fly and assume I still don't even have a handle on even a small bit of what I can do

Do aerial training on all-star and keep practicing until you start getting at least an 8/10. It may take a couple of hours, but it really makes a huge difference.

It just means that they reset all of the competitive rankings for everyone, and they will usually implement a new ranking system as well. I'm pretty sure they are also adding a new map to the competitive mode.
