I didnt do my homework on that issue, but it definitely seemed to me that we threw the ball more than any other offense that Les Miles has had.

It just seemed like we threw it a lot more, we just CONNECTED on a lot more passes was the difference. Well, we certainly threw it a lot more than the following year, but that was because we were seriously gimped at QB with Jennings.

Here's the pass:run ratios recently:

2015 - 278:505 (35.5% passes)
2014 - 276:621 (30.8% passes)
2013 - 326:523 (38.4% passes)
2012 - 356:527 (40.3% passes)
2011 - 279:591 (32.1% passes)
2010 - 301:538 (35.9% passes)
2009 - 336:435 (43.6% passes)
2008 - 391:495 (44.1% passes)
2007 - 442:612 (41.9% passes)
2006 - 368:450 (45.0% passes)
2005 - 360:509 (41.4% passes)

So my bad, we actually saw a significant change in scheme after 2009 season, not 2008. I guess 2 years of poor passing at a higher rate scared Miles off a bit. You can clearly see the change after 2009. Only 2012 has come close to the pass:run selection since 2009 from his first 5 years here. 2014 and 2011 were years he just refused to really throw the football. 2011 we get it due to the special teams and defense. But I find it interesting in Jordan Jefferson/Jarrett Lee's freshman and sophomore years we were throwing it around 44% of the time and in their junior and senior years we threw it 36% and 32% of the time.
