Our bats off the bench are nonexistent. Romero is by far the best we have. Breaux, Wofford, and Dawson can't hit jack shite. They're more of a guaranteed out than a Jordan twin with a man in scoring position. Ducote has seen the plate like six times this year. Bryce Adams is already in bumfrick Wisconsin playing summer ball. Lochridge is hurt and Forshag is a nonfactor. We are thoroughly fricked, which leads to us having to leave the Jordan twins and Reid in the lineup.

Slugging% ?

.550 for Romero. .418 for Bryce. OPS of .933 for Romero and .844 for Bryce. You can hit Romero for Beau if you'd like but taking out the guy with the highest OBP on your team seems a little crazy. Romero's strikeout rate is also tied with Pap for highest on the team for guys with 100 or more ABs, and he's prone to hitting into the double play too (highest rate on the team).

Yeah, I think RBI is a junk stat to evaluate individual players. I think you can make a case for Romero over Bryce with the slugging and power. I just think basing the decision over the past five games is silly. I'm sure I can find a five game sample where even Mike Trout was terrible.

He has one more gdp than Bryce or beau.

If anything you take out Bryce BC he's a DH. At least beau has flashed some leather in left field.

A stat that is incredibly dependent on the other people? I'm not throwing it out to help one or the other, but it is relatively useless in this conversation. We can discuss their batting average with RISP if you'd like though, but I don't know where to find it.

I think total bases is a good stat. They are equal and Romero has 40 less at bats.

That is precisely what slugging measures.

I guess the argument behind RBIs would be wouldnt that be what you want your 4-6 hole hitter to do? Drive in RBIs? I'm all for ob% but having your 5 hole hitter possibly getting hit or walked really doesn't do anything except put pressure on 6-8 to drive them in.

They sure seem to struggle getting a base hit as of late.
Make it worse there always seems to be runners on when they bat.

They're built like Mack trucks.

And that has absolutely nothing to do with hitting homeruns. It's all about the hips and wrists. Bat speed if you will. The twins are stiff. Deichman is on fire bc he's loose. Watch the next time he swings compared to the twins. You will notice the difference.

Yeah, makes me wonder about the baseball intelligence of fans who have been wondering, "what will we do with Deichman next season". Lately. he is the most dependable batter on the team.
Even Papierski has been more reliable than the twins.

care to post their walks & HBP?

Sure, so they can run their 5.6 40's on the basepaths.
