And THIS is exactly why I despise Kickstarter and other such vehicles.

There was a time and day when true entrepreneurs birthed an idea, mortgaged their souls to build a company and then brought a product to market for sale. That is the spirit that made America great.

Now every asshat with an "idea" runs out and begs for donations to make their idea into a product.

The danger to the consumer is exactly what you are seeing here. An idea, no matter how good, doesn't make a marketable product and you really have no idea of the business acumen of the person to whom you are donating. It sounds a lot like they wont' refund your money because they probably don't have it. Dollars to donuts they have blown it on salaries, a nice office or unanticipated manufacturing costs.

First and only time I have "donated" to a kick starter project. And as of now, it will be my last time too.
