Exactly, so you can remember most of your childhood pre-internet. You had to do reports in elementary school where internet research wasn't an option. And as you said there is a huge difference between early dialup novelty internet and Web 2.0

I will agree that most of the kids today between 16-21 are pussies.
They are? Based on what? How often do you hang around 16-21 year olds?

..and neither did we.
As the world has progressed into a more global environment, i.e. more easily accessible, communication, etc, the radical islamists grew with it.

Yes, ISIS, with their impeccably well run government, economic system, and infrastructure is going to conquer more territory and people than anyone in the history of the world has done.
Theyre going to conquer all of the Middle East, even though they're already losing to most of the Middle East. They're going to conquer Israel, they're to conquer all of Europe, and they're going to launch an armada across the Atlantic?
Just like in the early part of the Cold War we had to go fight in Asia to check communism bc if left unchecked it would be "right at our door." Except we either lost or drew both those wars, at great cost of money and life, and lo and behold communism never came to our doorsteps.
ISIS is just al quaeda with delusions of grandeur. They are a danger yes, but that danger is in terrorist attacks to be foiled by intelligence and police agencies, not full scale, institute the draft ground assaults.

The problem is this..

Second, if we are that scared of them, bomb the frick out of them. If we are truly worried about them "getting on our doorstep" as an actual army, we have the fire power to wipe them off the face of the earth without losing a single person in our military
So spare me your rally cry bullshite. It makes no sense for me or anyone else to feel the need to go over there. If one wants to on their own calling, more power to them and I thank them for their service

Short of using tactical nukes, we really don't.

No, no they do not.
That line of thinking led to the rise of ISIS in the first place.

That or a sustained, round the clock bombing campaign on a scale like whatever did over Vietnam in the 60's or Germany & Japan in WWII.
Could you imagine how people would lose their minds if we did something like this today?

You don't indiscriminately bomb an ideology out of existence.

Tactical fight bomber strikes won't do it. Those have been going on from us, NATO, Middle East powers, and even Russia for over a year and it's not stopped them yet.
It would take a sustained strategic bombing campaign which is something quite different.
