To be fair that is a good description of Donald Trump but I tend to think being rich had more to do with his draft dodging.

I'm 23 and he has had no real direct influence In my life so i don't feel inclined to write him a fanboy obituary so everyone can see that I care. No disrespect toward MA, but he's been in terrible health since probably before I was born, I hate the post death bandwagoning that people do.
He was a well-recognized sports figure and truth be told if you asked a high school kid to name a boxer they'd probably say Muhammad Ali. We've seen major biopics of him as late as 2001 with Will Smith, mention of him by multiple young rappers that those teens identify with, and etc. There was a piece from season before last where UK's basketball team met with him during their run and they knew who he was and identified with that as young black athletes. Is he more a pop culture icon at this point than just an athlete? Sure. But he resonates beyond his boxing years.
Personally, I'm too young to have ever seen him box. But I got to meet him on multiple occasions as a kid living in Louisville. Long after he lost his ability to talk or stand for periods of time, he would still come visit a classroom and shadow box with you.
Like I said before, he's a polarizing figure. There are a lot people here in Louisville who didn't care for him (stems back to the medal incident and his association with the Nation of Islam). But he visited here often and did give back to the community here. I can respect that and his athletic ability without agreeing with other things that he did or said.

Also not sure if mentioned but he'll be laid to rest here in Louisville on Friday.
I'll probably go out for the processional but not the service at the Yum Center.

The funeral, scheduled for 2 p.m. ET at the KFC Yum! Center, also will be open to the public. Eulogies will be given by former President Bill Clinton, Billy Crystal and Bryant Gumbel.
The procession will begin at 9 a.m. and will travel along a route that "includes locations that were historically important to Muhammad," according to a statement.

I mean, I'm not even a fan of boxing or of Ali's political stances or religion. Don't have to be to tip my cap to an American sporting legend. Hell "legendary," is probably a huge understatement for his impact on the sports landscape.
Some folks are way too ate up with the haterade these days when it comes to any/everything
I second this statement
