LaTech baseball fans: Question(s) about Goff

His name has come up in a couple of places regarding the Kentucky baseball opening (he was a pitching coach at UK in the early 00s). Have any of you heard anything on your end? I know he's only been at Tech for a couple of seasons so I'd be surprised if he jumped that quick and he's probably getting some looks with some other openings.
TIA
TIA

He has LaTech showing signs of life as a baseball program for the first time in a very long time. And is doing it in a harder baseball league than they competed in in the past. He's doing something right.

Belle, Mississippi State's pitching coach name has been floated. Seems to be a rah rah guy that the program needs.

If I was Goff I'd wait for a better opening instead of hoping in a terrible program in a great league.

Pretty sure Kentucky was damn good a year or two ago

He completely turned La Tech around but he did it with all JUCO transfers. I know they needed a lot of talent in the program so it makes sense but that would be the one thing I'd be concerned with.

Oh sorry I didn't realize they were good for one year they must be a great program then.
I thought the coach they fired was really good further proving they are a bad program in a great conference.

Yeah I've seen a few SEC assistants like Bohannon (Auburn) and Mingione (State) get mentioned too. One of the UofL guys I work with thought their pitching coach (Williams) might get a call, but hadn't heard anything yet.

Kentucky hasn't been as great as some other SEC programs, but they've had the talent since Cohen to do more than they have (which is why Henderson stepped down). They won the conference in '06 and have had more than half of the program's NCAA Tournament appearances in the last decade. And with potentially a new stadium in the mix, they have enough to offer a good coach to be a consistent NCAA Tournament program.
So in short, you can go frick yourself.

Is Kentucky building a new baseball stadium?

It's the next facility up on the list of upgrades/building since they're finishing up the new indoor facility for football. WildcatMike could probably tell you more about how far along they are in it.

Well, it seems Frankfort has stepped in and may stop it from happening. Now, our AD could tell the state to GFTS and build it anyway because the athletic department has plenty of money to build it. I'd say it is 50/50 if we break ground.

And by over pitching and ruining his ace pitcher for the season, Clancy. If I was that kid or his parents I'd be seriously looking into suing his skanky butt.

Goff took over a garbage Campbell program and won 49 and 41 games their his last two year (stayed 7). Kentucky would be lucky as hell if he took that job. Alabama should hire him.

Lol....we admittedly had a rough start but are now peaking at the right time. In time to host a regional. As opposed to you hillbilly @ruston folks.
And hey, even though it cost you your ace pitcher, that midweek win was worth it, right?
But what's really sad is that whatever succes you little mutts do have, you still can't get your fan base to support it.

He really did overpitch that kid way too early in the year.

Yep. And I had forgotten to add that when he was over pitched it was Feb, I believe. No decent coach would've done that to a kid. And he and the team are paying the price for it now.

Crowds of 2,000 were reported for the Rice series, FWIW.
Decent crowd at the Northwestern State game, which I attended.
