Spot on. That is the only "bad habit" he hasn't corrected yet.

He can definitely improve his passing game numbers with receptions and reception yards. Most NFL teams look for a complete back that can block, run and catch. We know he can do all 3 but is pass catching ability has been very underutilized in this offense.

With a weapon like Fournette, you need to create as many mismatches you can and give him the ball or create opportunities on 30-35 plays

Notice how ridiculously he accelerates through the secondary. I realize it was Syracuse, but it's just special. Not to mention how damn big he is. I expect we should see 6-10 of this type of run this coming season.

Shiiiiiiit....We saw that type of run in most games 2-3 times. I would say it will be way over that 6-10 mark!

I don't think it's realistic to think Fournette will get much better, simply because I honestly don't think he has much more room to do so.

His one major weakness was his tendency to try to reverse his field when the hole is completely filled. He simply doesn't have the pure speed and quickness to do so (I'm not sure anyone his size can physically do that).

If he stops trying to do that and just accepts that it might be a 1 yd gain into a dogpile on occasion, instead of a 5 yd loss trying to reverse field, I would say he's max'd out his potential.

Honestly, I'm expecting that no one will be able to tackle him.

No ONE was able to tack him last year. They had to phone a few friends.

Guice will get more carries to save LF's body for NFL....

agreed Guice will get more carries, but it has nothing to do with saving Fournette's body for the NFL. That's not Les' job. His job is to win games at LSU.

Sure, with a talent like Guice behind LF, it gives Les the ability to rest LF a bit more than normal. But that's to help LSU win games with a fresher Fournette, not some future consideration of his NFL career.

Then LSU has never witnessed an all time great RB season.

Yes if we can throw the ball at all. He won't have to run against 9 men in the box.

I hope he gets fewer carries this season then he did last.
I think this will allow for a fresher and even better LF.

Take a deep breath. Fournette had runs of over 61 yards in 4 games last year.

Now that's very, very good, but we didn't see that run 2-3 times in MOST games last year. We saw it once each in 4 games.

And please, no matter how great a back is, no one is taking a 70-yarder to the house in 10 freaking games.

Or Harris hits Moore in stride, where he doesn't have to reach back, exposing his knee...

I think if we get more than one competent fullback or one competent fullback that is healthy for the whole season, you will see additional, sustained production.

Fournette peaked too early last year. He needs to save his greatest for the last few games. If he can't get it done against Bama, it's all moot.

While I could see him possibly surpassing last years numbers, even if last year was his last at LSU he would be an all time great IMO

Look up the last time the SEC much less LSU had the leading rusher in the NCAA... Per game obviously, we had a 3 game disparity between some teams (25% more games)

imo, not as much as him improving as it is to make the opposing d at least have to guess every once in a while

Absolutely. He's a year stronger, more mature physically and wiser. He knows what to expect during the course of starting a 12+ game season in the SEC. He looked a little beat up when he faced Bama, Ole Miss & Arkansas.

He was either running over or around defenders earlier in the year, but didn't have that extra burst later in the year. If you recall, Guice kicked arse against A&M (not that LF had a bad game by any stretch of the imagination).

Let LF get his yards as early as possible and give plenty carries to Derrius, Darrell...

Make sure he's fresh for the stretch run, Ole Miss, Bama and Arkansas (no I didn't forget about A&M).
