yep anyone that attempts to defend the confederacy must be a racist because look at all them slaves they brought into the country..oh wait that was the good ole U.S OF A...well at least the greatest president ever , Abraham Lincoln who hated slavery freed the slaves with his emancipation proclamation, well unless you were in the union, you could keep yours.

Nah it's not lazy, it is logical. No one is saying slavery=genocide, but give me a reason in support of the confederate flag and let's see if it works for the Nazi battle flag.

I only say that to counter people who say being offended by the confederate flag is ridiculous.

I'll also add a bit of anecdotal evidence - plenty of people think the flag stuff is bullshite either way, but the only people I've ever met who flew the confederate battle flag were racists as frick.

Nothing about the Battle Flag was different in the early 1980's when CBS broadcast the Dukes of Hazzard every week, and yet somehow there weren't mass protests and seizures at the sight of the General Lee. It was a popular show if you remember.

Just one example. People were trained to be offended because a floundering NAACP needed a cause. Same way people were trained to be offended at 1000 other things in Modern American society.

I didn't mean for this thread to turn into another Confederate Flag debate because those points have been hashed over a million times.

My apologies for taking it off track.

My question remains, as stated in the OP, is how does the uber PC segment of our society not recognize the hypocrisy of waging battle over the Confed Flag when the US Flag flies proudly)?

Because whether you agree with it or not, the US flag is not directly affiliated with slavery and genocide and all of these other atrocities that took place under its watch. Perception is reality to Americans, so the US flag gets a pass. It is what it is.

The American flag is the biggest symbol of terrorism in the world.

The 'acceptable' flag used by many pro-Confederates to avoid hassle in modern society.

Sure, but that also closer to "separate but equal" than it is today, so I wouldn't expect the uproar to be that loud.

On a personal level, I really don't give a shite about any of the flags. They're a piece of fabric, although much can be inferred about the person depending on the flag they're flying. I also like to think that we as a society try to be a bit more courteous. Unfortunately common courtesy has spun out of control into the current PC climate.

But that's the thing. The "confederate" flag was never an official flag. It was the Tennessee battle flag. Some say Virginia, but it being square and not rectangle leaves me to believe it's the Tennessee flag. Nobody gives me shite about my state flag flying. It's literally the first confederate flag with the Georgia seal.

But anyway, if I fly the "confederate" flag, I'm a racist. If I fly the Nazi flag I'm a racist and a bit murderery. The OP is saying why does our flag get a pass? Technically it should get just as much shite as the others. I wouldn't want that at all, but fair is fair IMO. I don't know if I'm even making sense. I'm tired as hell. I fly three flags. Country, State, and Marine Corps. Those are the only ones I care about.

maybe the fact that Lincoln had just asked each state to raise 50,000 troops for n invasion , half the southern states did not secede till this aggressive act...so i`m going with thats the difference the Germans were invaders the confederacy had no plans to leave it`s own borders.

Same here. People should be free to fly whatever flag they like but every single person I've ever met who flew the confederate flag was openly racist. Not saying everyone is, just the ones I've met.

Good question.

Slavery lasted longer under Old Glory than the Stars and Bars (even beyond Appomattox).

Lincoln is a big ole fraud when it comes to slavery. He wasn't an abolitionist; he wanted to contain slavery, not completely get rid of it. The Emancipation Proclamation was aimed at destroying the southern economy. And then the treasonous tyrant suspended the right of habeus corpus so he could put into jail whoever he wanted without having probable cause.

Flying the confederate flag is one hell of a socioeconomic status indicator.

You're either a well to do fraternity kid at an SEC school going through an uber-southern phase, or you're on government assistance.
