A few days ago a friend of mine posted a photo of a dead copperhead on facebook with the following: "This snake just bit me. What is it?"
He was in the hospital a couple of days with a swollen hand and some pain. Apparently it was on a shelf in a shed and he reached in to get something without looking.

If you're going to get bit by a venomous snake, a Copperhead is your safest bet. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
