I read where he was in the strength and conditioning program as some kind of assistant while NS was HC there.

Yep. He has an interesting history with both Les and Saban.
S&C Caoch for Saban in '00-'01
Les hired him as DL coach at OSU '02-'03 and at LSU '05.
Dunbar is a great DL coach. I wouldn't trade Ed O for him but he and Pete Jenkins would be close seconds.

He was Strength and Conditioning under Saban in 2001.
Hopefully, he'll be back in the NFL next year. Rex Ryan really screwed Karl by letting him go in March, after all the NFL Staffs were set, as opposed to immediately following the season so he could get on with someone else. Rex is an a-hole.
