Good or bad hire for Ole Miss?

Personally I like the hire and think it is a major upgrade for Coach O (who I was a supporter of) but I do not believe Ole Miss could've reeled in a better or bigger name that Houston Nutt at our current state.

Jevan met with Coach Nutt yesterday and it went well. Hes here to stay. A transfer would cost him to much time away from football. HDN has already announced that he plans to use Jevan to the best of his abilities which means pass first, run second. Jevan is very mobile.

Good hire, can make Ole Miss a 6-8 win a year team, but not SEC Champs imo.

I understand that, we are Not going to be SEC champs anytime soon as long as yall keep getting better.

All I am asking for is a bowl, I'll take Shreveport in a heartbeat! Its been long enough.

Nutt is a great hire for OM. He'll get you back to mediocrity at least, which is far better than irrelevancy (where OM is now). And he prolly won't ditch you like Tubbs did. I don't think he'll contend for SEC Champs or MNC's, but he'll get you to some decent bowl games.

Good hire. Nutt comes across as a used car salesman but he has consistently finished higher in the SEC West than pre-season predictions (8 out of the last 10 years).

His teams have always been built around 2 and 3 star recruits who overachieve.

He does not have a good track record with discipline. If one of your players shoots a clerk during a robbery Nutt will say "Everyone makes mistakes."

He's an emotional guy and it works with some and bothers others. Bottom line. He wins a lot. If I were a betting man I'd say you guys will go 7-5 next year. And that will mean a bowl game.

I think its a good hire. Nutt is a very good game day coach IMO.

Maybe this year you can pull for Bammer, Saban has em in the bowl in Shreveport doesn't he?

Sure he will.

I think he was a good hire for you. He usually is able to pull one or two wins out of his arse per yr that one wouldn't expect him to get. I sure hope it isn't us!

Having said that, I am supremely thankful that he is gone, no matter who ends up as the Hogs' coach

GOOD HIRE

Objectively speaking, Houston Nutt is a good coach. I don't care what the haters say, you can extpect a Sly Croom-style turnaround for the other Mississippi School. Ar-kansas messed up, as they will find out....in the worst way possible.

Ole Miss could not have possibly gotten a better coach to come to Oxford. It won't be an easy job for him and y'all will continue to lose a lot of games for quite a few years, but I think he can make a marked improvement over time. Don't make the the same mistake you made with Cutcliffe. Ole Miss might have been turning the corner by now (like Kentucky and State seem to be) if AD had been patient.

I'm not a big fan of Nutt, but he is a HUGE upgrade from Orgeron. I'm still in amazement that you guys dumped Cutcliffe and hired that stooge.

Good hire. Players coach which will work in Oxpatch cause everybody knows when a player screws up by 6am the next morning. BTW, thank Dickie Scruggs for the O diaster. Add two years to his sentence for that.
