Are there any negatives to Z rated tires, for a sports sedan.

They're basically the same price as the original equipment tires, but they are rated about 10,000 miles less. 55k vs 45k miles. Is that the only negative?

They definitely won't last as long.

Probably better handling

Probably a harsher ride and noisier.

handling should be better than the originals, but the ride will be stiffer, too...depends really on what you want out the tires.

You won't get 45k out of Z rated tires.

Theyre as soft as pencil erasers.

Chances are they are asymmetrical too so only front to back rotations (assuming they are the same size). If you get 20k miles, consider that alot.

Z rated tires never last the mileage they claim. If you get 2/3, you're doing great, or you really drive easy.
