Tduecen got the ball rolling with the international europe edition a few days ago so now it's my turn. Looks like most of the cheap fares go until the end of June, however some destinations like Orlando or Tampa have cheap flights through next February. All prices are for a roundtrip ticket and if you have any requests let me know
New Orleans to:
Atlanta: $98 on Southwest through the third week of june
Belize City: $287 on United or American through the last week of June. Most days available for departures
San Juan, Puerto Rico: $274 on American. Now through the end of June, most days available
Orlando: $78 on Frontier over the next few weeks, $174 on Delta, American, or Southwest for the immediate future. Dates available May-February
Philadelphia: $113 on Frontier, $124 on United. Lot of tuesday departures in May and early june, expensive in July and early august, then cheap again late august-october
Tampa: $161 on American or Delta. Tuesdays/Wednesdays in May and June, then more open dates in July-next February
Fort Lauderdale: $108 on Southwest, $154 on Delta. Only one cheap departure on Southwest in early May, cheap one-ways back though in May and June. Delta has a lot more availability
Chicago: Very few dates of $88 on United or Southwest, lot of $168. The cheapest dates are in May or early June on Tuesdays
Dallas: $80 on Southwest or American. Mostly Tuesday/Wednesday departures in May until the first week of June
Denver: $144 on Frontier, $181 on Delta, $214 on Southwest in May. Tuesday departures only, price jumps way up for other weekdays.
Houston: $115 on Southwest or United in May, $148 in June
Miami: $126 on American, $169 on Delta. Early May and the second week of June
NYC: $245 on American or Delta to Newark. Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Saturdays May through July, then more availability in August-on
Washington DC: $203 on American/Southwest through the third week of June. After that prices jump up big time for the summer and don't come back down until late August

Any chance you could do something to highlight weekend only (Fri-Sunday) trips?

Something like American used to do? They would send emails out for "Deals for travel THIS weekend" and "Deals for travel NEXT weekend". The big problem with that is most of the time Friday-Sunday trips are not cheap in comparison to what I post in this thread.
Take for example May 6-8, cheapest I can find is Dallas for $147 or Miami for $202. If I can book a few weeks in advance and get the $80 roundtrip to dallas, that's a little better than $147 per person. May 13-15 Orlando for $174

Doesn't have to be this coming weekend. Just any weekend to a cool city/spot.
Also - would appreciate a Thanskgiving (Nov 23 - Nov 27) special

Cuse, can you answer this question. I assume you use Google Flights to find prices? Why does it show me insane prices to fly back from SEA to MSY on July 2nd but when I search directly on AA website it shows much cheaper prices and list flights that don't show on Google flights? Is it always best to do a search on every airlines website or is Google Flights usually more reliable and just missing a few flights on that date for some reason?

Hmm all I did just now was put in a filter for one-way flights on American, Delta or United and the cheapest that came up is $153??? How much is the flight on American showing up for on their website? Google flights

Im still holding out for MSY-CUN July 4-10. Should I continue to hold out? Or go ahead and book?

This is tough, prices are very high for those dates (especially coming back on a sunday). It's still pricing at $389 flying down on American and back on Delta. But looking at the seat maps of the flights, they're only about 1/5 full. While seat maps are not the best indicator of how many tickets they've actually sold, I think it's safe enough. If I had to guess they may lower fares over the next few weeks for early July since we're in the 2-3 month period, but on the other hand I don't want you to spend $500 in two weeks when you could have spent $389 now... It's completely up to you, just don't kill the messenger

I think I'll hold out for a couple of more weeks. If it goes up, then oh well. Where do you go to see the seating maps?

No no no..not trying to pull your hair on this or anything but seat maps don't tell you anything. That is just an expensive time to fly to a destination. Especially places like Cancun which are easy to get to for people making a vacation out of the day off they get for celebrating their Independence day
Lots of people don't make seat selections at the time of booking. Lots of people can't. On the other hand - airlines will block some seats until last minute. Either for elites or other reasons. So you can't even tell if what is full is actually taken.
Also - there is nothing stopping a flight to fly empty. They are not going to reduce fares just because it is last minute. Every flight has an inventory of certain types of fares they will sell (look at your Fare code). If they are sold out of deep discount economy, they are probably not going to switch a lot of full fare economy to discount.
Use ExpertFlyer if you are trying to find out how many seats are actually left in a certain fare code. But I do realize most people aren't going to pay $99 for that.

Expertflyer is my friend, should be yours as well. Every fare bucket available, what's left on specific flights for airlines, how many seats are blocked, etc. You can make whatever statement about holiday flights, but the cheapest dates to fly around holidays are generally on the holidays themselves (christmas, thanksgiving, easter, July 4th, halloween, etc.). I really do think we can find Delacroix some cheaper tickets down to Cancun on the 4th, coming back on the 10th is the challenge.

Alright, I'll keep an eye out for anything cheaper than what's there currently.
From google flights click on the direct link to the airlines. United and Delta's are clear, American it's once you put in the first round of information.

Yeah if you are flying to India on Thanksgiving day, you can expect to find a cheap flight (like I did $673). Flying domestic on that day would cost me almost as much if not more.
But going to Cancun/Cabo etc for 4th of July? Forget about it

That or you can click through Google flights. Then directly go to aa.com in another tab. All your flight info will be populated. Hit search and on the next screen you will see "View Available Seats" on every flight. Idk which one would be faster

when's the cheapest time to go to Nicaragua?
Posted on 4/26/16 at 3:31 pm to Kujo
May on Spirit. Surprisingly it's only $224 if you depart on May 10, 12, or 16, that's dirt cheap. $354 on American or Copa now through the third week of June

Be honest...when this Travel Board was created, what was your reaction? Did it move a little?
