1. If you're looking at paddle holsters, you should at least try a Comp-Tac. They have a 30 day money-back trial policy -- wear it for a month and if you don't like it, send it back for a full refund. (All you'll be out is shipping cost.)
I use a Comp-Tac paddle holster to carry a Glock 19. Have used one on a daily basis for a long time (probably 10-12 years?). I tried plenty of other paddle holsters before this -- none come close to the Comp-Tacs.
The other brands I tried fell into one of two categories --- either they came off your belt when you didn't want them to (not secure), or they wouldn't come off when you did want them to (had to unhook belt and unsnap pants). The Comp-Tac is the only one I've tried that is super secure, but can be removed in 2-3 seconds.
2. As was mentioned, you'll need a decent gun belt for carrying that pistol. I've used leather belts from "The Belt Man" for about 10 years. They're the best I've found.
I recently tried a leather belt from Comp-Tac (not sure when they started making belts). I wore it for a few weeks. It's a close equivalent to those made by the Belt Man.
The leather belts from Comp-Tac and the Belt Man are much better gun belts than any of the nylon Wilderness or Blackhawk tactical/instructor gun belts -- far better.
