It's not racist if it's true. If someone watches the news about a murder and assumes the perp is black, is that person a racist when they're right? Statistics are racist.
Those aren't the comments to which I was referring. See the Harriet Tubman comments, the prince comment, the "type of students" comment, etc.
Anyways, why are there comments about race anyway even if the perpetrators were black? Could maybe be to throw the whole black population under the bus? Or to generalize? When there is a school shooting by whitey you simply don't see the same types of comments and you know it. Many here are hung up on race and you know that too. Any opportunity to generalize blacks and certain posters are all over it. This thread as well as many others exemplify it. Sure people will say I am hung up on interjecting race. But that's just because I call people out when they do it and people don't like that.

Maybe that's because people are sick and tired of being told that the problem is Old statues and dead honkies on money, when the obvious issues are swept under the rug.

When people begin throwing out negative ethnic stereotypes, maybe the issue isn't with those doing the stereotyping, but those conforming to those negative stereotypes. Is it really the fault of the observer when yet another murder is committed by an African American male, age 15-40? At what point is it the fault of that demographic when less than 3% of the population commits nearly 50% of all property and violent crime?
Is it any different than hearing that traffic's backed up on the interstate and saying "I bet there's an accident involving an 18-wheeler on the I-10 bridge". It's not the fault of the listener to the traffic report that that's his first reaction. It's the fault of the people who keep causing that assumption to be true 9 times out of 10. Why blame someone for noticing a trend? Should I just throw caution to the wind and give a ride to the guy in the bright orange jump suit, wielding a bloody ax, hitchhiking on the side of the road around the corner from Ellen Hunt Correctional Facility?
