Maya Angelou over Tubman?

Harriet was a true American that had a serious set of Merica Freedom balls on her. She isn't some pity party for blacks put on a bill. She is a deserving badass

Were any of those women more important than Tubman? IDK.

I agree. I'm just kind of baffled that they all settled on Harriet Tubman. Seems kind of random.

But Harriet is female as well. Two birds, one stone. I personally think MLK is more deserving, but she certainly is not undeserving.

Yeah I don't get the outrage. Jackson would not want to be on federal currency anyway, and Tubman saved many American lives.

No, those other women aren't more deserving

This board has jumped the shark. They are so pissed off with PC and the race card, they are being idiots and assuming Tubman is a pitty party pick to be on the currency(not all people are doing this )

I understand the change is most likely for political posturing, but Tubman is completely deserving of being on Amercian currency. She represents what this country is supposed to be

I'm taking Tubman in that bracket.

Harriet looks like she's about to die in that photo.

Me? Not at all. Did my posts seemed rustled? I think Harriet Tubman was an extraordinary American and very deserving of the honor. Just because I would've chosen MLK doesn't mean I'm rustled by her being chosen. I said she is certainly deserving.

We had suffragette Susan B. Anthony on a dollar coin from '79 to '81.

Reagan made sure this abortion did not stand.

I can't imagine Tubman being any more aesthetically pleasing on currency.

I've never heard of 3 of them, and only know the fourth because she was a president's wife. Why does it have to be a woman?

This is a situation in which it does suck to be black.

Anytime a black person gets an award or something of importance, a great deal of people will assume it is because of their skin color and not the fact they may have actually deserved it
