For anyone wondering how the Browns could screw this bounty of picks up, let's look back at their picks in the top 100 this decade
1. Joe Haden 2010 - All Pro
2. TJ Ward 2010 - 2nd Team All-Pro
2. Montario Hardesty 2010
3. Colt McCoy 2010
3. Shawn Lauvao 2010
1. Phil Taylor 2011 - used one of the Julio Jones picks to trade up to get him, one of those picks ended up being Justin Houston
2. Jabal Sheard 2011
2. Greg Little 2011
1. Trent Richardson 2012
1. Brandon Weeden 2012
2. Mitchell Schwartz 2012 - 2nd Team All Pro

3. Travis Benjamin 2012
1. Barkevious Mingo 2013
3. Leon McFadden 2013
1. Justin Gilbert 2014 - Brown traded up for Gilbert and Vikings end up with Pro Bowl LB Anthony Barr

2. Joel Bitonio 2014 - All Pro
3. Christian Kirksey 2014
3. Terrance West 2014

1. Cameron Irving 2015 - Part of the trade that landed Sammy Watkins for the Bills
2. Nate Orchard 2015
3. Duke Johnson 2015
3. Xavier Cooper 2015
1. Joe Haden 2010 - All Pro

Not really. Many organizations don't want or need a lot of draft picks or young players and want to dump the picks anyway.
You must know a lot about football amiright?

I'm sure some draft expert said the same about Rodgers, Brees, Wilson, etc.
Good point, but if anything, that hurts the Rams/Eagles reasoning. Those guys were taking late in the first all the way to the third round. No one was trading up the #1 or #2 overall to get them.
Also, why did they need to get to #2? If the Browns we willing to trade back, then they must not have been in love with Wentz/Goff either, so don't you just have to get in front of SF @ #7?

Quarterback to watch for Cleveland: Paxton Lynch.

Boy the Eagles are stupid unless they trade Bradford.

Good God, that's awesome for the Browns.
It really is an incredible haul to move back 6 spots. Realistically you're only risking 5 players going in front of you that you really want anyways since it is apparent they don't want Wentz/Goff.
I know this doesn't mean jack shite, but I do this all the time on NBA 2K and Madden. I trade players for picks during the season and then continuously trade back during the draft. On 2K it only took me 2 years to end up with every 1st round pick in 3rd year draft.

Browns could also use RGIII as a 1 year band aid like someone previously stated they could target a top QB next year

Quite a few guys on there are candidates for the GOAT name list, their contributions on the field notwithstanding.

At face value this looks terrible for the Eagles. I guess there is someone they really really want at #2, but I can't imagine who that would be (maybe Tunsil?).
I can understand teams getting extra picks by trading back, but mortgaging the future for 1 player seems like a poor strategy unless you've identified someone that you know will be your franchise.

For a draft that doesn't really have a "can't miss" QB, people are really shelling out future draft capital to get one.

if you legit think this. Yes, teams are willing to go insanely risky on 5th round and on picks because they rarely have a chance of being a well rounded starter, but everyone loves cost controlled talent.

Huge part of the problem. Would hate to go back and see who was drafted after these dipshits. And this is why I am almost a former Browns fan.

You can argue that the Browns wont draft anybody good, and its certainly valid, but its clear that they made out in this trade. I don't think they Eagles will do shite this year, so likely two top 10 picks out of it. I don't think there's that much separating Goff & Wentz from a guy like Lynch, so maybe they get their guy after all and a shite load of picks.
This is probably the smartest thing the Browns have done in the last decade.

Their worst move was trading down from #6 in the 2010 draft. There were eight non-QBs drafted from picks #6 to #16 and seven of them ended up being future Pro Bowlers. They could have stayed put and selected pretty much anybody who wasn't a QB and they would have ended up with a stud player.

Cleveland actually did something right? How bizarre.
Still not outta the woods yet ... they have to draft effective players with all those picks

Browns are in no position to groom anyone. They're going to be terrible.
Bro Hue Jackson made Andy Dalton a serviceable QB until the playoffs. If he gets the Browns to get playoffs they'll build him a statue.

They better not give up on duke Johnson yet

Common consensus among fans is that the team that gets more picks wins the trade generally, but I like this for the Eagles. They need a franchise QB desperately.
