Quick! Thoughts on iHunt brand "Ultimate game call"

It's an electronic game call that you set anywhere you need and run with your phone using Bluetooth. It has over 600 calls from 47 species.
I found one on sale for $26, normal retail is $60. Thinking about getting it for my FiL as a gift. Worth it? Or is it just a stupid novelty item that doesn't really work?

I believe it's also illegal to use for certain animals in certain states. I'm pretty sure I've read "no electronic calls" somewhere in some Alabama laws.

He is in Pennsylvania, their hunting laws make Alabama's look liberal. So you make a good point.
