That's a bit misleading. KG and Ray were pretty clearly only going there because Allen, Garnett, and Pierce were going to team up and contend for real success. Lebron James was technically "traded" to Miami from Cleveland if you need a comparison - but that was also functionally a big name player forcing his way over to a new team to win more games.

You're going to "well, actually" that guy and then compare KG having to be convinced by Wolves ownership to waive his no trade clause to Lebron going to Miami?
