I graduated from LSU in '84 and don't remember anyone ever giving a rat's butt about the Spring Game.
Gumps feel an obligation to go to their spring game just so they can brag about it and so that they're not out-attended by Auburn.

I was at LSU from 85 to 89. I don't remember even having a Spring game in those years. I know the band didn't play in them, since I was in both the marching band and basketball bands and would have gone.
