We ate at Cowboy Chicken this past Friday as well, probably got there an hour before you did.

To their credit, they did have a person walking the floor to inquire about quality of food. The restaurant is large, has a lot of open space, nicely appointed and people kept coming in. By the time we left, the line was approaching the main entrance door.

Unfortunately, we found the chicken to be rather small (a normal 1/2 chicken was about the size of 1/4 chicken you would find at Sam's or Costco) and the white meat pieces were exceptionally dry. The chicken wing of the bird could have passed for chicken jerky. As far as flavor was concerned, no complaints there. It tasted like rotisserie chicken.

The sides that we had were marginal at best. Macaroni and Cheese were "dry" - don't see the resemblance to Piccadilly here. Twice baked potatoes had more of a consistency of grits than potatoes. Texture was just "off." And the Fried Okra was frozen. Doesn't take too long to fry up okra, however this may be a corporate decision and taken out of the hands of franchisee?

Despite my critique, I hope the owners do exceptionally well. It's a great alternative to how we normally get chicken (fried) and pricing is fair for a quick service restaurant.

I've been twice now and enjoyed it both times. Both were during the lunch rush, but service wasn't terribly slow despite being pretty busy. The chicken is the star of the show, but both the black beans and pinto beans were good. My boys love rice, so the spanish rice was a constant both times. The fried okra was OK, but it was your standard fare and the portion was pretty small. That said, the peach cobbler was really good and I think the value for my family was good.

1 - whole chicken
1- side of black beans
1- side of spanish rice
1- side of fried okra
2- teas
1- family sized cobbler
___
$30.xx

The only snafu was they brought me a very small cobbler out instead of the large sized. I brought it up, they told me to keep it and brought the additional family sized.
