Violence is the crux of the other two sports. The game of baseball would change very little if you removed the purposeful HBP.
Golfers don't turn around and smoke balls at other golfers for fist pumping birdies; rocketing basketballs at opponents' faces for throwing their hands up after a 3 isn't an accepted part of basketball.
You want to strategically come inside and accidentally hit a guy? So be it. Intentionally throwing a ball at someone for not sprinting around the bases as swiftly as the pitcher prefers shouldn't be a significant part of the game.
