I never understood why Margie hanged herself we only see her twice when she first meets the Creed Family she mentions having pains. then shortly after the cat comes back from the dead she hangs herself she's mentioned or seen again during a flashback when judd tells Louis the story of the guys son killed after the war

I think it was implied she was hurt (or raped) by the guy they brought back originally. And she saw the cat and she knew the same thing had happened to the cat.
Or it was just the writers adding in a layer of dread in a very King way.
