Anyone ever had one?
The surgery looks terrible...
I have only had wisdom tooth surgery and that was a breeze.
Thanks again

how did the drug test go?
does that mean you have a bad disk? getting it fused together?
going through your throat?

At least you're a candidate for surgery. My dad's spine is such a mess he just has to live with it.

Not sure if you're trying to crack a joke about the OP sucking big ones that blew out his back or if you don't have any idea of where the L-spine and S-spine is located.

Yep had it done twice. You'll be walking around 6 hours after surgery.

What management has been done so far? How old are you?

Had one. Best thing I ever did. Kelly Skrantz is a God

Money grubbers. They should at least have you do physical therapy before slice and dice.

Surgery would not premature. Try physical therapy.

Hope it turns out well for you.
I've got a bulging & torn L4/L5 with disc degeneration added in for good measure. Actually injured it years ago, like the late 90's, and just lived with it. I finally saw a doctor just before Christmas and got a block done in January. Well, the block did not work so now the next option they're talking about is going in and doing a fusion.

I did not stay in a holiday inn express
Friend had a surgery on his spine (I believe it goes from lower back to the skull)and they went through his throat

Im a PT in a hospital. 80+ percent of patients only having one level will be up walking with less than 3/10 or so pain that afternoon.

pretty minor surgery as spinal surgeries go. are you having motor issues? can you dorsiflex your toes or your foot?
buddy of mine had a surgeon recommend the same surgery and he was having motor issues (which indicates a greater deal of involvement). i told him to hold off for the time being do some PT. his issues improved and hasn't had issues since.
St. Aug is right, though. If you do the surgery they will have you up and walking that first day and it really won't be as bad as you are expecting.
