Beg to differ.
Magnum might have seen like a rip-off of Ferrari and LeTigre, but there were subtle differences.
But I agree with you in the general sense, no way Ferrari and LeTigre or even Blue Steel could have stopped that Ninja star.

Here's a major one I've noticed from the Matrix: In order for Cypher to have betrayed Morpheus and the others, he had to have had an accomplice, particularly Tank or Dozer. Cypher could not have uploaded himself to the Matrix and ratted them out without someone else knowing this. This is a clear plot hole if one of them isn't in on it.

Magnum, when done correctly, alters the space-time continuum and easily allows Derek to stop Mugatu's star.
