I'd rather have Cam Akers or Bruce Jordan-Swilling personally. I feel like Carter regressed quite a bit as a junior

and that is EXACTLY why the LSU coaches make the decision on who joins the team and not people who FEEL about the top recruits in the nation. THANK GOD FOR THAT !!!

And I'm sure they appreciate you trying to make their job harder than it has to be.

Actually the coaches have backed off a little for the same exact reason the person you responded to said.

They have backed off a little because it was February and the damn kid is in high school and it's not football season.

Send them down to the St Patty's parade. It's Baton Rouge having a great time.

The person I responded to said "I feel like Carter regressed quite a bit as a junior".

Which is true, but only if going from averaging 7.3 yards per carry as a sophomore to 8.5 ypc as a junior is regressing.

Year Carries Yards Average Touchdowns
2014 189 1382 7.31 19
2015 142 1206 8.49 17

Yes sir, that is one hell of a regression right there.

I just don't think this kind of statement is appropriate for the recruiting board. Besides being factually incorrect, it does not help LSU or the coaches in this kids recruitment.

I'd really like a 1-2 punch with Jordan-Swilling and Carter. Bruce is the thunder while Toneil is the lightning. Their running styles and builds are different, but they could make a sick combo. Not as dynamic as Lendale White and Reggie Bush, but similar approach with how to utilize them. That is also if Bruce even plays offense. Could end up like Devin White with how talented he is. Idk if they would be willing to come in together, but one can dream haha I don't think Akers comes here though. All in due time...

LSU's not recruiting Carter that hard. Carter is a A&M- Georgia battle. LSU will land Swilling or Ackers

Akers ain't coming here. I'd be ok with Clyde Edwards-Helaire and the Swilling kid, but I'm not confident in him yet. Carter will continue to be recruited by LSU.

I wish we had a shot with Stephen Carr out in Cali. Check that dude out his run style is fun like Guice's. He cuts and jukes with the best of em and he runs through guys.

The RBs this year look like the insane 2014 crop. The top guys like Harris, Carr, and Akers are all 5 star talents IMO. I think Clyde Edwards-helaire is also a top 5-10 RB.

Speaking of the 2014 crop; Freeman (needs 798), Perine (needs 939), Fournette (needs 1014), Cook (needs 1302), and Chubb (needs 1702), will all go over 4000 career rush yards barring injury. Perine, Freeman, and Fournette could all likely go over 5000 career rushing yards. The fact that this is even realistically possible for 3 year guys, puts them in the all time elite category. The fact that this many of them can do it, is just freaking ridiculous.

Minus Perine (who checked in at 15th ranked), these other 4 were in the top 6 composite RBs and all four were the top 247 RBs. Then you look at the rest of the top 10 and it has Elijah Hood (over 1400 rush yards this year for UNC), Joseph Yearby (over 1000 yards for Miami this year), and Sony Michel (over 1000 yards for UGA this year). All purpose backs like Mixon (1109 yards 11 TDs from scrimmage last year) and McCaffrey (nearly 3900 wll purpose yards and 17 TDs total) were ranked #1 and #2 and both top 90 with Mixon being a 5 star. That kid seriously has the talent but just messed himself up before he hit the field. He'll blow up after Perine leaves if he decides to stay (watch his highlights from last year). Plus 40th overall Jalen Hurd (nearly 2600 yards and 21 TDs from scrimmage) at Tennessee and what he has accomplished behind a terrible OL.

Even a guy like Bo Scarborough who hasn't really played yet, I know he will blow up this year. Roc Thomas is the only guy that I am really disappointed in. I also wish Michigan would do more on offense and S/T with Peppers.

Sorry for the long post that really doesn't have much to do with Carter. I love the RB position and that class was like a dream when I saw it back then and is crazy reality now. I didn't even address guys like Justin Jackson, Nick Wilson, or Boom Williams who were outside the top 100 recruits but still freaking amazing to watch.
