Didn't the majority of Tiger fans secretly root for him with the Fins?It wasn't until he went to Bama that everyone started to hate him.True in my particular case.
I never rooted for him for one second with the Dolphins. Why the frick? What does that have to do with LSU football?

ten years with ten million dollar buyout.
fixes that problem.
fixes that problem.

yeah if the problem is that people dont trust him, i think that 10 million buy out should do the trick

He left Miami, like Art Modell left Cleveland for Indy, like a friggin snake.
Wow! For a fan with 4000+ posts you sure are confused. Jim Irsay, owner of the BALTIMORE COLTS!!!! moved them to Indy.

By "without hesitation", do you mean mulling over the decision for two weeks, and initially turning it down only to be talked into it at the last second by Wayne Huizenga?
or having derek dooley telling his babysitter before the arkansas game to find another job because he was moving to miami at the end of the season. so was saban really mulling over this decision.

Yea, it blows my mind how people want him back.
Leaving for Miami wasn't that bad to me, and I did root for him there. There are only 32 of those jobs and he wanted one. No big deal to me. But then he leaves them after only 2 years, and in worse shape than when he got there. If I'm not mistaken, they're 0-10 now, or is it 0-11? Now just think how bad he would be screwing over bama if he came here. Those guys have invested an incredible amount in him, both emotionaly and monetarily. Why would anyone want a guy like that as our coach?

Doesn't LSU look like some battered wife taking back a cheating husband by even discussing this?
More to the point, I think LSU is not used to getting dumped. We're just fine with dumping coach after coach, but when it's done to us we lash out. Circumstances aside, he left for his dream job, which is exactly what Miles is doing if he goes to Michigan. There is the contingent that didn't hate him until he went to Alabama, but our job wasn't open last year. So realizing he was happy coaching an SEC school he took what he could get.
This may sound like I'm rationalizing things since there is a possibility of him coming back, and I might be, but I won't have a problem taking him back. There's three or four guys higher on my list, but if it's the Nicktator, then so be it. My blood will still be purple and gold.
That being said, I'm still pissed he burned Steltz's redshirt in the Cap One.

I say we should offer him the job for the same pay as he got in '04, with some incentives for performance. If he takes the job($2mil paycut), he'll shed the greedy rep and we'll have a monster program and lifelong coach.

Dinardo gets no credit for originally putting LSU in the position of even making it to bowl games. I guess his last two horrible seasons erased that for many people.
That's correct. Nobody looks at who actually stopped the 6 years of losing. Look at the roster of the 2001 SEC Champs. 95% are DiNardo players. DiNardo needed to go in 1999, but kind of sad people skip over the Kevin Faulk/Booger
McFarland years in remembering who really brought back the magic.

I just don't think it shows good character on our part to have people supporting this.
I could name probably 1,000 things off of the top of my head that would show a person's character over his/her choice of a football coach at LSU. You've got to be freaking kidding me!

Losing two games has apparently erased that for many people and Miles.

Part of me wants him back just so we can witness the meltdown in bama but with that being said no coach who has taken shots at our university, coaching staff, and last but not least the fine people of this state should ever be allowed to step foot on this campus.

I know this is my first post but seriously the man can coach and we have a dynasty if he comes back. Lets do it!
ACTUALLY, Saban lost many gimmes while at LSU and he seems to be continuing that tradition at Bama.
He can coach, but he doesn't walk on water.

He's just a man. He made a mistake. He will make it up to us, he promises.

Are you an LSU Tiger fan?
If so, is LSU Football very important to you?
If so, Do you form opinions regarding fundamental changes to the Football program lightly, or with great thought and consideration?
If so, isn't a decision based on great thought and consideration a true reflection of character?
That's what I thought, run along now...
Most Tiger fans probably put more thought into these things than they did their first marriages..
