I was out of college and living on my own when it came out but it was still awesome for me. When I was a senior (1977) the aerospace class at my h.s. did a tour of Barksdale. They let my physics class go too. We went into their control center and, much like they did in the movie, they got us involved. I got to type in a hello message to Greenland and they typed us back a message. The guy pulled it off of the printer and gave it to me. I kept it for years.

Everyone who loves this movie and the 80s in general should read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. You won't regret it.
