Despite if you like Tyreke or not he's not being traded he's coming off a season of 3 knee surgeries. All I am saying we can live and be still be very competitive at the SG position with 3 guys of Tyreke, Q, and BDJ. As with the SF position we still have nothing but a few bench players to try to act like starters.

I do think that it is most probable that he is on the team next year, but it wouldn't be impossible to move him.

For next year, yes. But we should be looking for long term pieces in the draft, which none of those guys are. Maybe Q-Pon is, and I love the guy, but I don't think he's that good to where we would ignore the position in the draft. His ideal role, on a team built to make a deep run in the playoffs, is a 6th/7th man.

BSS Article - Draft Options

I'm far from a McNamara fanboy, but this article was really well done minus the obvious contradiction when talking about Hield's shooting stroke.

quote:

He scores because he has an amazing stroke and a quick release, and quite frankly, because he is smarter than everyone else on the floor.

Secondly, I don’t love his stroke. He pushes the ball too much for my liking; It’s not a natural, smooth stroke. I think his shot could get blocked more in the pros, and I also wonder if he can maintain his accuracy with the line a few feet further back.

As disappointing as this year has been, our suckiness has allowed us an opportunity to address a position of need through the draft. After Demps' disastrous offseason last year, options were slim going into this one. That's something at least.

You just said it your self, Evans has had three knee surgeries and has historically battled injuries. This will be the second time Qpon missed a whole season essentielly. And Jrue, well we all know Jrue's story by now.

We are absolutely not secure at the guard position. Sucks to have so many question marks after what should have been a successful rebuild but such is the life of Pelicans fans today.
