The best lab I ever had was from my fraternity brother's dad. He was through his first rounds of field trials at 6mos old, and was well on his way to being something special. He busted through the gate one night at my in-laws with her lab, and they both got hit on the hwy.

I paid $450 for him. His bloodline was solid, but nothing over special. That dog slept in the bed and lived in the house. He was my best friend and shadow before I got married. When he passed, I got a GSP, bc I couldn't even look a a lab for a long time

IMHO It's more about the owner and his relationship with the dog than it is the bloodline.

My friend has a British lab and there's nothing special about him. I don't like the way their faces look. Much prefer my American
