We are moving to Kansas City area, and the house we are buying is sitting on almost an acre. I've just got my push mower and it would probably take forever to cut it with that. Any recommendations on a small riding mower that you've used and liked? Wouldn't mind a zero turn, but think that will be a little bit of overkill.

I have .9 acres, I have a 48" walk behind with sulky. Great option for this sized yard without going to a zero turn

42" Bad Boy. They are around $3k, and it will last you forever.

same here. Just find a used commercial belt drive online. They can be had for around $1000 in great shape

I have a 48" Gravely That I paid a lot of money for brand new. Little less than an acre yard....

Starting to regret my decision for going so big. I love the mower and its lightning fast but I dont need a mower that should be used for a commercial lawn company... I'm thinking about downsizing.

My Craftsman 48". With a Briggs 20 has been running strong for the past ten years with no problems. It's not zero term but, it turns plenty sharp enough to do my lawn.

I think I paid about $1200 for it. They're about the same price today.

Meh. Never been a fan of walk behinds. Owned my own lawn company for years and will never use anything but a zero turn again. I want a ZT I just want something smaller. The shite I got you would see on the back of a commercial trailer riding around.

I was young and dumb and making a lot of money.... Of course this was about a year ago so not much has changed. Only 5.6 hours on the motor.

42-48 size deck
john deere/craftsman/ toro/all about the same man, find one with a good engine (i'd say 22-23 would be best) and find one that makes you happy. Whether it be the color, the seat, the sweet LED's, you do you man. You gotta sit in it and ask yourself, do i want my neighbors see me riding this on sundays? if its a yes, go for it.
