Those scenes give me anxiety. The chaos and the high probability of a very painful death freak me out.
There's no fricking way I would run into that kind of shite.
I'm with Salmon. I run and take my chances with an officer chasing me on a horse or an archer.

You'd need crates and crates of ammo to really change anything. One or two battles sure. But when the ammo runs out, you're done. Besides Kevlar doesn't do very well against crossbows or stab wounds- youd need a stab proof vest. Manufacturing new ammo wasn't something Scotland peasants did very well either.
