Where to stay in NYC...

Might be switching from the Hampton inn on 39th street to the one on 24th instead(Chelsea location) because I'd rather stay there than Times Square. After looking into the hotel though it seems that there are several reports of bed bugs at the Chelsea location. Although most reports were back in 2011 it has me a bit nervous to stay there. Especially since the 39th street location doesn't have any reports. Not sure where to stay.

Your dad just wants to be close to all the prositutes. Let the old man have some fun.

Just spent Christmas at the Marriott Marquis Times Square and it was well situated for Broadway shows, walks to the park, restaurants, the Natural History Museum and the public library. I would recommend it.

Soho Grand. Tell them you're with Cardiff Giant.

Really like Mariott Marquis. Also close to the 42nd street subway station.

2nd part is a joke but it's a decent hotel in a good spot.

Actually, the Hampton Inn by time square is one of the top rated hotels in the city on trip advisor. It is very nice and convenient with large rooms for NY standards. Not a terrible location

I have stayed at that Hampton Inn a few times and it was very nice. Good location for Broadway shows, St. Pat's, Rock Center etc.
The Crowne Plaza right on Broadway is wonderful, and the Hilton Rockefeller Center is great too.
The Roosevelt Hotel on Madison Ave is really great too!
have a good trip!

Yea times sq sucks. I've been to nyc 6 times and I always find myself in the les, soho, west village. Rarely do I head north.

The Giraffe and the W Union Square are great hotels that will place you closer to the Lower East Side yet will offer easy access to Midtown locations that the other people in your party wish to see. These hotels are located on the east side, allowing you to simply move up and down the avenues; going cross town is a pain.
Personally, my favorite New York City hotel is Sofitel on W 44th St.

Ask him if he has ever stayed in the quarter in NOLA. Times square is no different.
Financial district, Chelsea, LES are all good choices. Careful about LES, some areas are still shady. Try to stay away from too deep in alphabet city.
If he insists on staying near time square look into the NoMad hotel. They have a fantastic hotel mixology bar called the Library. It's not in times square but relatively close by.
