When was the last time a NCAA men's BB team didn't make the tourney and had a player drafted #1 in the NBA draft?

Kandi man didn't make it as a senior, but made it as a junior in 1997. Simmons will be the first #1 pick to never play in NCAAT (ex high schoolers) since ________. Genuinely would be interested to know.

Here you go.......

LaRue Martin 6-11 Center from Loyola of Chicago 1969-72 was the first overall pick for the Portland Trailblazers. It was the 1972 NBA Draft, 44 years ago.
