Was our draft a success last year?

I keep hearing on talk radio and from the coaches of how we are on the right path with the draft and know our formula now. Lauding Ireland, etc.
I don't get it. We had a good draft position and only see one player as a lock as a long term high level starter.
Peat - should be a stud at his draft position. I don't see how anyone could argue that there is a more than 50% chance that he is even a starter in this league in 3 years.
Kikaha - or however you spell his name, was a reach just as Peat was. Looks slow to me and nothing more than a high motor, good character rotational player. I want to believe he's awesome as I see posted everywhere on this board, but don't see it.
Outside of that - I could go into specifics, but no one that even looks like a lock to be in the league for more than another year.
Am I missing something, as I think last year was as much of a failure as the past 7 years.
Would prefer that we put the draft on "auto pick" in future.

Yes please go explain these specifics

Before I waste my time, will you tell me one name outside of who I named based on your request for specifics that you see in this league in 3 years as more than a fringe player?
If we have this exactly quality of a draft for 3 straight years, you think we are division champs.
Head in sand?

Ok my bad.
Swann- sure fire future starter.
PJ - very promising
Murphy- wow. The next Barry sanders.
My bad guys... This is the kind of draft that wins championships. Can't wait for them to start when we draft another peat, Murphy, swann, PJ, kikaha, etc for the next few years.
Oh I must have left out Davidson... Pro bowls in his future for sure. Again... My bad.
I'll go ahead and bookmark this and admit I'm wrong after we sign all of these guys to Long term contracts.
Swann- sure fire future starter.

Can you give me an example of a team that drafts 2 or 3 sure fire impact players to play for decades every draft? ANd you know of their absolute dominance after watching their rookie season? Or a future HoFer in every draft?
This was our best draft in a long time, Jeff Ireland is a proven scout, and he'll just get better with more time and resources with the organization.
We have 3 or 4 starters out of this draft.
Kikaha, Anthony and Peat look very promising.
We added some much needed depth.
What did you want?
If it was possible to draft Randy Moss, Brian Urlacher, Ed Reed, Champ Bailey, and Gene Upshaw in every single draft the NFL would be a very different product.

Swann looked pretty good to me, have no idea if he will be in the league in a few years because of injury issues.
We havent even seen PJ Williams yet, so not sure how you came to that conclusion.
Grayson needs time to develop.
Every other player looked like a good rotational player to me.

Who did I ignore? Do I have to name Tull and that QB that we got... Do I even need to learn the QB's name?
Are these the center pieces I left out?

That's the problem... There aren't any specifics to go into on Tull, PJ, Swann, Grayson, Davidson, Peat other than they looked good when you watched them with your binoculars in rookie OTA's.
We are on the right path!

Google panthers 2014 draft.

Peat will be the starting RT this year.
Depending on what they decide to do with him, Kikaha should develop into a nice compliment for Jordan. He can play SAM in base packages and Rush in sub-packages.
PJ Williams is an unknown but highly talented. He would have probably gone in the later half of the first round of not for his DUI.
Grayson, who knows really.
Davis Tull could be a nice rotational pass rusher and special team.
Swann is a baller if he stays healty.
Davison is nice depth. We need starter talent.
Murphy can be nice if he gets the muffed punts taken care of. He was a 7th round pick so it's not a real loss if he doesn't work out.
Bottom line is last year started to rebuild the depth of our roster and added a couple of starters.
For a team that has routinely blowing the entire draft outside of one player, this is a big step.

You said we should be drafting incredibly every single year, meaning every year we need impact top of the league players guaranteed for a decade.
I dont one example of one team one year. I want an example of a team doing this consistently for years.
Because you said if we have this exact draft for 3 years straight (4 starters, depth, and some good backups) it is shite and we'll never win anything.

One big one, but hey troll gonna troll. At least make it interesting!

Why you no like Stephone Anthony??!?!?!?!
Possibly the best rookie LB in the NFL, best rookie LB stats since Ricky Jackson, set an NFL record.

Is "Anthony" listed in invisible ink in my initial post? Somehow on my iPad it says his name. But maybe it's the invisible ink option on yours.
