Yep forgot about how welfare literally tries to hold you back. My SIL was offered a job for 16k a year. She asked them if they could reduce the offer to 13k. What was funny was that she calculated wrong and lost some benefits because she made 50 dollars too much a month.

It's a cliff drop. 50 dollars too much and you can lose 1200 a month in benefits. So unless you can jump in employment 14k instantly you are better off going nowhere.
