very well stated.
I'm a republican voter with 2 kids,one a junior in HS. If he wants to go to college i do not expect the tax payers to foot his bill.
frick anyone who is pissed at this. Greedy bastards.
But i think the main reason people are pissed is because he cut TOPS all the while the blacks will still be lined up outside of many seafood establishments buying boiled crawfish on the taxpayers dime with their Louisiana Purchase cards.

As you eluded to in the rest of your post, the problem is that TOPS shouldn't be the first thing on the chopping block, regardless of how bloated it has become. There are more significant issues that deserve consideration, but TOPS definitely needs an overhaul.

Meauxjeaux2 that is part of what I don't get. And the fact that other options aren't being given a chance like tightening up requirements or closing schools that really should be.

Well since food stamp benefits are 100% federally funded, cutting them won't save the state any money.
