I can't disagree with that. Maybe the studio is saying "frick the average movie goer". That's not a very good idea, IMO. There has been talk for years about a Batman vs Superman movie. The fans have wanted one for awhile. But the average movie goer is like "What the frick is this?" Like I said, if it's a good movie, it won't matter. The characters are very well known. It would just go down as a really good movie with a bad title. Which is what I think a lot of people said when the title was released. Maybe they should have just gone with a Batman /Superman title or a Batman and Superman: Dawn of Justice (as in Dawn of the Justice League). The animated movies have done this with some success. It may have been a better idea than trying to sell this Batman vs Superman heavyweight bout. You can still have the fight, just don't sell it as the entire movie.

This is has been my thoughts as well. They HAD to have 'Batman' in the title. I wish they would have gone with "Batman & Superman: World's Finest" or something similar. Get the average movie goer in the seat, grab their attention, and then explain why they are fighting.

I think they were hoping that it would be obvious to the average movie goer that the whole movie isn't going be a battle between the two. Based on the trailers and it being "Dawn of Justise" it should be obvious that the two will team up at the end and most of the conflict won't be actual physical fighting (rather them being at odds against each other) but many people still don't seem to get it.
