Happy Monday everyone. For those of you stuck in the office today and tomorrow, maybe this will make your life a little better. I just noticed Frontier will start flying New Orleans to Orlando nonstop so there's yet another option for cheap flights to Disney. All prices below are for a roundtrip ticket, sometimes it's cheaper to book two one-ways (fly out on Frontier, back on Southwest). Also, this will be my last cheap airfare thread until march so if you have any requests let me know
New Orleans to:
Cincinnati: $181 on Delta or United, $90 on Allegiant. Think delta and united are finally lowering prices with allegiant moving in on the route. Most days open in March and April on United/Delta, allegiant has one or two nonstops a week
Orlando: $90 on Allegiant, $98 on Frontier, $158 on Southwest. Cheapest I've seen on southwest for this route in a long time. All three of these are for nonstop flights. Allegiant flies to SFB while Frontier and Southwest fly to MCO. Southwest's cheap flights start the second week of april and go until the third week of june.
Miami: $130 on American. Nonstop flights, mostly tuesday/wednesday departures in March, price goes up to $144 in April.
Los Angeles: $203 on Southwest or United. Southwest has a ton of availability for almost any day of the month in May or early June
Fort Lauderdale: $104 on Southwest, $120 on United. Early march tuesdays or wednesdays, then price jumps up to $158 late march and tuesdays/wednesdays/saturdays in April. The few dates on united are within the next month
Atlanta: $123 on Delta or Southwest. Finally seeing the prices go down on this route, it's been a while. Cheap prices are for the end of april, all of may and up to the third week of june on southwest. Delta has a few cheap prices at the end of april and early may
Denver: $165 on United or Southwest. Sporadic dates in March, April, and May. Mostly sundays/tuesdays on southwest in april and may, united little better availability in march and early april.
NYC: $207 on United, Delta, American, Southwest. About average price, goes for all of march until the end of April.

Thanks for posting these.
I'm headed from Nola to cancun June 25th- 30th. When would be the best time to purchase? 2-3 months out ?

I'd start looking over the next few weeks and if you see something around or under $300 book it. The cheapest I've seen for the route is $266 and that was for off peak season.
It looks like most of the domestic deals are up until the third week of june right now, international the end of april/middle of may. As a price reference for your specific dates, it's $384 if you were to book right now on united (fly down nonstop that saturday, connect in houston the way back thursday).

Just curious, but how do you find all of these? Do you search each destination on kayak and look for the cheapest prices on the calendar?

I'll usually try searching by dates first in google flights, putting msy as origin and leaving the destination empty. I try tuesdays wednesdays and saturdays because those are generally the cheaper days to fly. Once i find a cheap destination, i click on it and then use the calendar feature to find any cheaper dates. Switch cities and thats about my normal proces

Cuse, I've been looking at flights from LFT to NYC in July; not by any means ready to book but that would be our only time to travel.
I am always looking at Google flights (now that I know about it thanks to you) but would love to know why they charge more for a flight that involves a 5 night stay as opposed to a 4 night stay.
Any thoughts?

PAGING CUSE TIGER............
Looking for flights to the San Fran area....wondering when is the best time to fly to this area, whether it be San Jose or San Francisco.
Wife's birthday is in August so I looked then, but its like $450.00 roundtrip..was wondering if theres anything cheaper throughout the year or that is the norm to get to Cali from NOLA.

I'm planning on going the week before that. I wish I would have booked last week; it looks like prices went up since then.
