It is a fantastic free game if you like Diablo style play. Graphics might be slightly dated.

PVE Dungeon Crawler with team based PVP Arenas.
F2p with zero pay to win economy. Everything is aesthetic or like a larger chest for your global inventory.

actually working on a Marauder lvl 15ish just hit act2!
Friend told me about this game.
Somehow it slipped out of my radar.
It is like a Hybrid mix of Titan Quest and Diablo 2.
That Passive skill tree though!

I've tried to play this three times and it never took, I never even saw a dungeon.

There are no real dungeons. The game plays out 3 times in 4 different acts. Normal, Cruel, Merciless and once you come close to the end of Merciless you run Maps which are zones you roll different properties on.

I want to like that game so much but I hate, Hate, HATE the economy in that game, it's realistic but I don't care about realism.
I also feel like the skill tree is large just for the sake of being large. There's no reason for it to be that big, they could have kept it smaller by having class trees rather than one big one. It would make it a lot less overwhelming for a new player.

You definitely need to read the guides to make sure you don't screw up your build due to the massive size of the tree.

my steam name is UnaNon and i have quite a few in game names so UnaNon would be easiest.

You're almost guaranteed passive resets if you do side quest so you really shouldnt stress an efficient build until you hit hard and whatever is after that.

In terms of action RPG's, it's the best on the market right now.
Tons of viable builds, the vast majority of skill gems are viable. I love the customization that diablo seems to be lacking.
If you don't like building and perfecting characters, you won't like the game. It's not the glorified arcade game that Diablo 3 is so the combat isn't nearly as smooth, but it more than makes up for it with depth.
I've seen the arguments for the skill tree being absurd because of how large it is and I understand where those people come from because I used to think the same thing, but as a more experienced player the skill tree is a really great thing. It's not just for show, the tree is pretty well balanced and allows for hundreds of viable builds.
The best tip I can give to a newer player is that life nodes on the tree are the most important ones in the game. It's hard not to be enamored by damage, attack speed, and crit nodes, but you really need a lot of life % nodes. I would aim for 180-200% minimum.
As for the economy, it's one of those things that turn off newer players, but if you really want to simplify it, watch some youtube videos by ZiggyD on 3rd party trading tools that make the game much more pleasant and kind of work together to create an unofficial auction house type system.
