Serious Question - Why would Florida tell Fulton that they're hiring Raymond

Not trying to start anything but that seems very shady to say the least. I've seen this a couple of times and (if true) seems to be very under-handed. Anyone got info on this. Not trying to start a flame.

holy shite is that true? source?
if they were smart they'd hire ron cooper, who i think is still just sitting there at USF. that would terrify me.

Seems highly unlikely.
Raymond is LSU, all day, every day. He's not making a lateral move away from his alma mater and everyone knows it.

Jimmy smith said UF was saying that Raymond will leave LSU after NSD. He didnt say anything about them saying they would be stealing him though

Can we worry about this after Fulton makes his announcement?

No he said it was just a tactic

I would love for them to hire Ron Cooper. That would just keep helping us lock down DBs from the state of Florida.

That doesn't say Florida is saying they are hiring Raymond....

That's a dirty trick to fill a young man's head with such bullshite. Corey is not taking any lateral move jobs. Frankly, he is eager to absorb as much as he can from Aranda

Would think that it would raise questions about Florida and its credibility as a program. Seems very desperate. Why not just sell your program without throwing BS against the wall?

Well the guy whose running was at Bama for a long time.

Typical Florida, at least back when Urban Meyer was there. That guy was, and still is, the king of negative recruiting. Maybe they are getting their sleazy groove back?

Because Cooper is overrated. He's at FIU now, was at USF last. If Cooper was as good as some fans on here believe, then Power 5 teams would be beating down his door. His secondary for the Bucs was the worst in NFL history.
He has a great eye for talent/potential, but overall is a lazy recruiter and even worse at coaching proper technique. That's why he hasn't received better coaching offers.

Didn't Raymond just sign and get a contract extension with a raise?

dont kid yourself, Coopers secondarys were great at SCar before he got here too, he's legit, no one is more responsible for DBU than Cooper.
Mo Claiborne went from an unranked 2 star to the 7th overall pick in the NFL draft under Cooper. Peterson actually lived up to his potential (which most 5 stars dont). this was Badgers offer sheet when he committed
Im not saying thats all because of Cooper, and i know he has other issues, but hes probably the best pure DB coach in the country
