Marine Corps like his father.
I worked with both Navy and Army. Really depends what you're looking for. Army is still very engaged in the Middle East and will be for the foreseeable future, Navy is deploying on ships around the world.

Army - sometimes sleep in the mud and dirt, sometimes eat crappy food, not so many people trying to kill you, stateside forts in crappy locations, (ever been to Ft Polk?)
Or Colorado or Washington

Air Force - better uniforms, seldom sleep in the mud and the dirt, eat better food, not so many people trying to kill you, bases in better locations
Or Montgomery or North Dakota

That settles it. Colorado sucks.

Base is in the middle of nowhere and everything is very old in the base.

Colorado Springs is the middle of nowhere?
Housing doesn't look very old.

It really all depends. I've got a buddy in the Navy who will have never spent a minute on a ship during his service.
I'd focus primarily on what he wants to do as a profession and find the branch that suits him. I'd focus on locations secondarily.

fricking Marine Corps, because My Son doesn't have a vagina!
Good luck to your boy.

Neither are Army status, but the Air Force does more real world military operations than the Navy does. Navy rules the sea, tho.

Probably lacking in the brain department, too

He could be in Pueblo at the chemical depot there.

"I drive a tank durrrrr" is not a good resume snippet.
Being an Armor Officer in the U.S. Army is one of the highest regarded and most sought commissions available.

Point still stands. Army and AF are a push on location. And with privatization, food and housing are pretty equivalent now.

You've heard wrong. Things are much different than they were even 15 years ago.

Navy..make sure he goes aviation
Posted on 2/2/16 at 2:57 pm to JAXTiger16
How tough is it to get into aviation as a potential officer joining the reserves?

I retired Army after 24 years and now work for the Navy EOD since 2010 and as much as it pains me to say: Navy all the way. Better bases, better living conditions, better treatment especially if he makes Chief (E-7), they treat them dudes like Gods. When I made E-7, there was no parade, or strippers, or carnivals. I went to work and that was it. In the Navy, you would think they just got elected damn President. Geaux Navy and enjoy life. I see kids from all four branches here and the Navy and Air Force seem the happiest. Here is a good example, An Army member (E1-E4) here has a bed check at 2100 every night 7 days a week but the Navy and Air Force members at the same rank does not. Sounds unfair but that's just the way it is.
