Grew up in the area but haven't been back in a while. Wouldn't know of any good higher end restaurants or bars but I would definitely check out:
Tony Luke’s for a Roast Pork with Broccoli rabe sandwich. 118 S. 18th St.
Jim’s Steaks, 400 South Street
Pats and/or Genos - Right across the street from each other in South Philly.
Prince of Steaks 41 S. 16th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102
Get em with Whiz!
