Interesting.

Back in the the day, Louisiana was stacked with numerous quality QBs:
Bert Jones, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Fergusson...

Why the change?

I blame coach Miles for keeping Lsu revallant evcery year, our running attack will keep us in national contention while most other teams will be more or less the same and easy to scheme against after all they all do the same thing !

Coach is s nice man and a great coach his background proves it. He has fought off ESPN promoting Sabin, bama and auburn orienented officiating in the sec west . He is a super man and LSU is lucky to have him !

40%!

I guess facts aren't important to you. you should run for the republican nomination.

2 years ago, we signed ZERO players from tejas. ZERO. sure, we get a handful most years (maybe 4 this year) but Florida, Georgia and other states make up larger signees. LSU signs about a third of our players out of state, with texas just being one of them.

It is simple blame OR credit goes to the HC on matters that persist. It really is that simple.

Let it go pal. Let's try and enjoy recruiting. Then possibly the nit. Then see how baseball goes.

Your logic is horrible, IMHO. Lots of blue chip quarterbacks leave their home states. It's miles job to bring them here. End of story.

No just NO.... Miles Pros- a great guy, good family man, excellent recruiter, and he knows how to hold onto a lead late in a game.
Miles Cons- #1 offensive philosophy isn't well balanced. Stanford and Michigan run just as much as we do but they throw to TE's quick slants, and passes to Rbs.
#2 Elite qbs don't want to play for him because they know his Offense won't give them a chance to shine.
#3 The first two flaws have cost many games we should have won and cost us 1-2 National Championships.
That's not haiting on Miles that's just telling the flat out truth.

Good man who isn't letting the offense and talent maximize their potential on the field.

I like Miles and support him. That being said absolutely he should take blame for it. 4.5 million reasons to blame him. He is the head coach and with the big money comes the majority of the responsibility.

Florida and Ohio State, were Franks and Haskins committed, are perfect examples of this. Others, like Ole Miss, hire the recruit's brother on staff and commit NCAA violations.

But you also have to consider that these QBs look out our offensive scheme (run heavy/retarded pass scheming) and say frick that and subsequently choose other schools. If I'm a 3/4/5 star recruit wanting to show off my skill set and throw the ball frequently, LSU is not at the top of my wish list.
Bottom line....you cant blame the kids for looking elsewhere to play ball.

Alright, then let's hear your legit argument. Louisiana produces one of the most fertile recruiting grounds PER CAPITA in the country and LSU has almost exclusive access to those recruits. Whereas Texas produces one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country, but there are no less than 5 major programs in the state as well as schools like Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Arkansas, and LSU with pipelines to the talent.

Sure, Texas produces more high-caliber quarterbacks than Louisiana because they have something like 20x the population of Louisiana. But for the number of high school athletics programs in the state compared with the number of capable quarterbacks, it's dismal. Then consider how many P5 programs are in the state, and there REALLY aren't enough to go around.

Or you can consider that these QBs will look at our offensive scheme and envision how it will put them into the NFL. Look where Blake Sims is right now. Nick Marshall. Braxton Miller... the list goes on. Meanwhile, Jamarcus Russell was a #1 overall draft pick, Matt Flynn has had an 8-year career as a backup, and Zach Mettenberger started several games as a rookie.

Since 1998, EVERY quarterback that has played two years as a starter under Cam Cameron has gone on to either finish top 10 in the Heisman voting (Randle El), earn selection to a Pro Bowl (Brees, Frerotte), become a future NFL Hall of Famer (Brees), or become a Super Bowl winning quarterback (Flacco).

Given the talent that LSU signs every year on both sides of the ball, it is absolutely criminal that you guys can't get decent pro style QBs Zach was the last one you had, but the play calling was an issue at times if IIRC.

Why are you having to deal with Jordan Jefferson, Anthony Jennings, Brandon Harris. You guys have elite WRs.

I don't know. Why will Jake Hubenak be your starter next year? Sometimes recruits don't pan out, and sometimes they're not willing to ride the pine until it's their turn.

It's a prima donna position.
