Suggestions? Pros/Cons?

I like using fidelity to manage but half my funds are in Vanguard 500 index
And I think United airlines still has a deal where they give you 100,000 miles if you deposit 100k into a newly opened Fidelity acct.

I think 401k rollovers don't qualify for these benefits.

Interesting. I fly Delta and they are offering the same promotion.

It's what I did, I opened a new fidelity acct and made the deposit then put it all into the vanguard 500 fund. Got my 100,000 miles, that's a ticket to Europe .

It's 50k miles for the airlines. But I'm only rolling over about $35k so I'm eligible for 15k in miles.

Other than the poor way that Scottrade handled their recent data breach problem, I don't suppose there's anything wrong with them as a trading firm. It's not the best, but it's not the worst either. As far as picking between Vanguard and Fidelity... six in one hand, half a dozen in the other. Personally, I'd lean more toward Vanguard, since I'd be using their funds more in a retirement account. But Fidelity is a top notch firm as well.

I used to have accounts at both Vanguard and Fidelity. A couple years ago I consolidated everything at Fidelity.
Fidelity's website (reporting, tools, etc), mobile apps, and customer service is light years ahead of Vanguard. They even have offices in major cities if you need them.
Now I prefer Vanguard products, so I mainly hold Vanguard ETFs in my Fidelity accounts (taxable and iras).
I even use Fidelity as my primary checking/billpay/direct deposit with their Cash Management account. Their atm card reimburses all ATM fees which is nice. I even used their cachback credit card which is 2% cashback, no fees and no limits.
