It's still going to be the same place it was before (same staff, food, specials, etc.) just with a new name.

You realize it is basically all the same people, right? So you're hoping for people you supposedly liked before to fail.

I was going to say this. I don't know what happened but it sounded really ugly and appears the family in question got royally screwed. 20 something year old daughters being told to stay out of the premises etc. People I know who worked there swear they won't step foot in it. I hope the new venture fails.
yea frick that place. The District FTW!

No, it's not 'basically all the same people.' Read the thread.

Throw a rock in the French Quarter and you'll hit a half dozen bartenders.
It sucks for the original owners but the place won't miss a beat because of location and layout (the food will continue to be terrible).

Well we all know if it's posted online by some random internet person, it must be true

I actually hate the layout. Main bar area is too small

Ok, how about I actually know the other people in question? It was a really ugly situation that caused a lot of pain for everyone. I don't know what precipitated it, but people got forced out and the ownership is not the same as it once was, hence the name change.

The bar has always had a turnover of staff. You get a couple that stay for a while but yeah, bartenders and servers leave occasionally lol. You're not going to have the same people working there for 15 years lol.

You're not the only person that knows people. And it looks like you're only getting a part of the story.

if you know the people then you'd know why. unless they aren't telling you the whole story.

I'll admit i've only heard one half of the story, and I'm sure there's plenty of fault to go around. I do know that some people got dragged through the mud when they didn't deserve it.
On another note, 701 is a really weak new name.

I've always browsed the TD forum for years and it's entertaining . Finally joined it back in Nov just for fun in case I ever wanted to comment but never had the urge to post. I love this bar/restaurant and the people that run it and work there so I thought I would jump in. Throw me to the wolves for only just now posting.
