Any of you ever had a shared driveway?

We are about to move to Kansas City and one of the areas we are looking at (Brookside) has older homes (1900's). We would be buying one that has been completely re-done, but one thing we aren't sure about is that the majority of the homes in this area have a shared driveway? Have any of you ever had a home like this and what was your experience?
Here is a picture of one...the drive is between the other house on the right and is shared with them.

A hunting club shares a portion of our driveway. I know it's not quite the same but we've never had a problem.

There are several in my subdivision. I do not have one thankfully. There are some issues between a few that do have them. Nothing good can come from it.

Preemptive "NO" to your soon to be posted name change thread.

I had one in New Orleans. I ended up parking on the street, as did my neighbor. The driveway was used to take stuff to the back of the house. If you're worried about automobile access, then don't buy in an old part of town, or be prepared to drop some extra money.

I rented a house that shared a driveway with a quad-plex apartment building and it was a nightmare. Whenever guests would come visit any of the apartment dwellers they'd always park in the middle. Whenever repairmen were there for issues next door they'd park on our driveway. Hopefully your neighbors aren't trashballs like mine.
