First number = width in milimeters

second number the percentage of the width in height.
(245/65 would be 159.25mm high)

third number = wheel diameter in inches

So a 265/65/17 has a wheel that is 10.34 inches wide, 6.7 inches tall and on 17 inch rims.
(so roughly 30.44" total size of rim and tire x 10.34 wide)

Once you know this, figuring out tires is easy from now on.

(also inch = mm x 0.039)
