2 yards to win the game

A chance to never touch the ball again
Or you don't get the 2pt conversion and never touch the ball again anyways becasue you lost.
Gotta kick the extra point and go to OT. Especially on the road in the playoffs.

Also a chance to win the game without the other team touching the ball.
By driving AT LEAST 70 yards.
This is 2 yards.

The main reason is because the coach would get crucified if they don't get it.
Now the question is, do they have higher odds of converting a 2 Pt play than winning in OT? The ESPN probability thing has GB at 46.2% chance of winning at the end of regulations. odds of converting a 2pt conv are probably slightly lower than that. Plus you don't put all your eggs in one basket in case something goes wrong with something like a bad snap.
So no it wasn't a bad decision to kick the xp

How does a team not have a chance to win in OT?
Posted on 1/16/16 at 10:48 pm to KG5989
But at least you had a chance with the 2pt. Green bay lost the coin flip. Never had the chance.

Or they could have won the coin coss and scored a TD. You guys are prisoners of the moment and acting like the odds are automatically against the Packers if they don't go for 2.

Why does being on the road matter that much to you guys?
If crowd noise was that big of a factor, then you probably wouldn't be in position to win the game anyway.

Because the fans and road weariness are amplified as the game wears on. I thought it was common knowledge OT generally benefits the home team.
Any data to back up the notion that home teams win at a greater clip in OT?

No, no it's not. They could've won it right then and there without Arizona ever getting the ball back. Now, it turns out that Green Bay never got the ball back!

So you're saying coaches should have no vision or leadership, just make decisions based on media/fan backlash?
Uh, I'm not saying they shouldn't, I'm saying most don't

No, I get what you're saying. It just seems to me, you know, you have the chance right there to win the game. No coin flip, no bullshite. You win or lose on one play, just like you would have in OT, but this way its on your terms rather than your opponents.

This is 2 yards.
And GB's WRs and passing game wasn't exactly lighting Arizona on fire.

The team that wins the toss has essentially the same percentage of winning the game as the two point success rate.

Well your data just said they're more likely even by 2% so...

The offense never touched the ball. Stop being obtuse. They had no chance to answer like in college.
Posted on 1/16/16 at 10:53 pm to Tiguar
I understand the thinking but with that much on the line, coaches are going to take the chance of either winning the coin toss or giving their defense a chance to get a stop or at least hold them to a fg. Whether it's the right call or not, it's the safer choice.

Can the defense not score TDs anymore?
